IIA Opens Testing Facility at Navy’s Center of Excellence in Danville, VA 

The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) announced the establishment of the new Center for Manufacturing Advancement (CMA) in Danville, Virginia where a US Navy Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM COE) will be established. Industrial Inspection & Analysis (IIA) was selected as part of a consortium of industry experts to support this new initiative for additive manufacturing.

American companies are on pace to reshore, or return to the U.S., nearly 350,000 jobs this year, according to a report published by the Reshoring Initiative. That would be the highest number on record since the group began tracking the data in 2010. The Reshoring Initiative lobbies for bringing manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.
