REMOTE VISUAL INSPECTION (RVI)

IIA’s RVI USE INTRINSICALLY SAFE (IS), EXPLOSION-PROOF (EX) CAMERAS

When it comes to structural integrity and safety in hard to see places, IIA brings intrinsically safe, explosion-proof remote visual inspection (RVI) equipment. We know guesswork is never good enough so we deliver the data you need to make informed decisions about critical assets, from reactor pressure vessels to buried piping and beyond. We are experts in non-destructive examination (NDE), and remote visual inspection (RVI) is one of our specialties.

From general assessments to foreign object retrieval or sinkhole examinations, our RVI allows us to safely navigate the most challenging inspection conditions to reveal the true internal condition of systems and components. Our unique intrinsically safe, explosion-proof cameras and experienced team are at your service around the clock.

IIA’s RVI offers an alternative to costly disassembly of components or systems, saving both time and money. In terms of worker safety, RVI is invaluable because it allows us to gather critical information in areas that are difficult or unsafe for people to access. And safety is one of our top priorities which is why IIA has a 0.70 TRIR overall and our RVI team's track record on safety is impeccable.

Our intrinsically safe, explosion-proof cameras can navigate tanks, tubes, vessels and pipes with ease — from access points as small as one inch in diameter. Our toolkit includes pan tilt and zoom cameras that ensure a thorough inspection of tanks, vessels, and rail cars.

Each inspection concludes with a comprehensive, user-friendly report featuring digital data and insight you can act on. A color-coded map with GPS locations shows areas that were inspected. Defects are highlighted based on a risk assessment, offering a roadmap for repairs.

Handling Hazardous Locations
We work with clients in a wide range of industries. In some inspection locations, the risk of fire or explosion is very real. We have years of experience conducting RVI inspections in highly volatile areas that may include flammable gases or fuels, combustible dust or ignitable fibers. In these cases, we only work with RVI equipment that is explosion-proof (EX) and intrinsically safe (IS). That means our devices are incapable of triggering combustion or igniting any gasses or fuels.

Rest assured, the safety of our employees and yours, as well as the general public, is our utmost concern with every inspection.

Qualifications & Certifications

Our People

Our skilled technicians are certified in Visual Testing (VT) and the Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) and undergo employee background screening and random drug testing through DISA Global Solutions.

Our Company

Industrial Inspection & Analysis (IIA) is qualified through ISN, which collects and reviews health, safety, quality, insurance, and training information for contractors and suppliers in the ISNETworld® platform.

Complementary NDE Methods

For a complete picture of asset condition, many of our clients choose to couple IIA’s qualitative RVI services with quantitative non-destructive testing methods. Our sophisticated RVI equipment allows us to zero in on internal damage. We can then use eddy current or ultrasonic testing to provide precise measurements of the defect, as well as comprehensive exterior assessments of tanks, tubes, vessels and pipes. As a full-service inspection company, IIA is equipped to follow up on RVI results with eddy current, ultrasonic and other advanced NDE. Our team can also help you plan a damage mitigation strategy, if needed.
