Your source for state-of-the-art SAR testingSAR Testing

To protect consumers, regulatory agencies around the world have adopted safety guidelines and radio frequency (RF) exposure limits to ensure people are only exposed to RF energy levels (wireless electromagnetic signals) that are within acceptable limits. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) testing helps to ensure that devices operate within mandated RF exposure limits limits before they are marketed to consumers.

What is SAR Testing?

SAR testing measures the rate at which RF energy is absorbed by the human body when a device emitting RF energy is used near a person. SAR testing is required for all wireless devices with RF radiating parts that are closer than 20 cm (about 8 inches) from the body or head when in use. (Under certain conditions, such as when the output power is very low, a device may be exempt from SAR testing.)

IIA’s Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Lab Receives Product Approvals for ISED Testing

IIA EMC Services has implemented new curve-fitting techniques related to measurements associated with nerve stimulation compliance in accordance with section 5.3.1 of RSS-102.NS.MEAS or 7.1.1 of SPR-002 issue 2.

One of only a few in the WORLD, IIA has received several approved ISED applications using the methods described in  Notice 2024-DRS0004 and RSS-102.NS.MEAS related to measurement-based assessments of internal E/H fields in the range of 3 kHz to 10 MHz.

This method covers such devices as (WPT) wireless power transfer, RF ID, NFC and more. To learn more contact, our Florida EMC Lab.
