Industrial Inspection & Analysis (IIA) is proud to welcome Eric Houston, P.E. to its Engineering Services team. Effective August 7, 2023, Houston brings his passion for Engineering Design and Programs as he takes on the role of Systems Engineer at IIA.

Houston is a licensed mechanical engineer with more than 15 years of experience developing innovative, cost-effective solutions to complex engineering issues. He brings a wealth of nuclear industry experience to IIA.

Houston is a leading expert in structural evaluations of piping and pressure vessels, including advanced methodologies such as finite element analysis and fracture mechanics. As a leader in the industry, he was tapped to help write code revisions for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) — including the frequently used Code Case N-513, which provides evaluation rules and criteria for temporary acceptance of flaws in moderate energy piping.

Houston looks forward to working closely with IIA’s non-destructive examination (NDE) experts to provide solutions to customers’ most pressing problems.

“Engineering and NDE pair so well together,” says Houston. “It’s really easy to exceed your customer’s expectations for accuracy and efficiency when you’re doing both of those activities as one company.”
