He discussed the vulnerability of steel bridges to fatigue failure under traffic loads and presented a methodology for a structural integrity assessment utilizing non-destructive testing (NDT). NDT is part of an inspection and test plan (ITP) which serves as a powerful reference to identify and address critical and fatigue-prone issues.
