Getting the Most out of IMView - Part 4 - Creating Cross-Sections

IMView software is a 3D report viewer designed for Windows. IMView is required to view and fully utilize IIA’s interactive 3D deviation analysis reports.

IIA has created a five-part tutorial series to help you understand IMView and get the most out of your inspection files. These tutorials will enable you to fully utilize this very powerful application — exploring features such as error annotations, custom color scales, cross-sectioning, report exports, and more.

This video is the fourth in our IMView tutorial series. Cross-sections are relatively easy to create and can be a useful way of analyzing data to gain more information about your part. This episode explores three ways to create a cross-section in IMView:

  1. From Primitive
  2. Standard Planes (XY, YZ, ZX)
  3. Anchor Line

You’ll also learn how to export a cross-section for use elsewhere, such as a modeling program.
