Proud To Be a Part of The Big Picture

Jeremy Howe says he is still trying to decide what he wants to be when he grows up, but as Project Supervisor for IIA Nuclear Services, he seems to definitely have figured it out.

After graduating high school, Jeremy attended college for accounting and quickly realized that wasn’t for him. He wasn’t exactly sure what he wanted to do as a career, so following in the footsteps of several military family members, Jeremy joined the United States Navy where he worked in interior communications and gained electronics and electro-mechanical experience as well as in mission briefing systems.

Not too long after his 6 year tenure in the Navy, Jeremy was contacted by a recruiter from San Antonio, Texas who asked if he’d be interested in working in the nuclear robotics field, to which he answered, “Absolutely.” That was nearly 16 years ago!

16 years later, Jeremy is now the Project Supervisor for IIA Nuclear Services and has an impressive and vast array of experience under his belt, from working as a technician or diagnostics manager to assisting with Research and Development. Jeremy has also developed scanning techniques, corresponding acceptance/rejection analysis, and he has assisted in the creation and implementation of several new exam technologies, procedures, and techniques.

When asked what his proudest moment has been, Jeremy says, “I’m just always glad to be a part of the big picture of the company’s success.” While he is genuinely proud of everything he’s helped the company accomplish during his career at IIA, one of his proudest achievements has been assisting in the development and implementation of IIA’s proprietary PASS™ examination technology.

About the introduction and implementation of this technology, Jeremy shares, “I’m very proud of everything we are doing to bring PASS™ into the industry. I’m also pleased with the recognition this technology is receiving from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).” Jeremy has also had a hand in creating a PASS™ training and certification program for site engineers and says he is proud of the impact this technology is having and will continue to have within the industry.

The best thing about his job, he says, is that it’s not always the same, and that it “makes you think critically; if you don’t know the right answer, you work hard to get an answer.” Jeremy loves being in an industry where you can always work to improve.

IIA is committed to offering story-worthy service in all interactions with customers, partners, and potential customers, and when asked what story-worthy service means to him, Jeremy shares: “Story-worthy service means integrity, honor, and resolve. It means striving for excellence. It means ambition.”
