A Conduit for Solutions

IIA’s Medical Sales Manager, Anshu Chand, brings an array of medical device sales, consulting, and marketing experience and expertise to the team. She has earned an Undergraduate Degree in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Medical Sciences and has since put her formal training to good use by being involved in differing aspects of the medical device industry.

Anshu brings a plethora of knowledge and experience to her new role, and her passion is evident. She is excited about assisting and supporting IIA’s continued growth efforts, specifically in the medical device and medical manufacturing industries.

As she tells us, her goal is “to assist acquisition integrations and to also ensure she is delivering the best solutions to current and new IIA customers.” Anshu’s varied experience with market leaders such as St. Jude Medical (now Abbott), Edwards Lifesciences and Medtronic as well as her hands-on experience in Research & Development and NIH sponsored clinical trials make her a valuable asset to IIA as an organization and is a new key factor in supporting and guiding customers.

Anshu doesn’t view sales as “sales'' at all. She says, “I am more of a messenger and someone who provides solutions and resources for my customers.” She also notes the importance of being a conduit between the customer and the organization or between the customer and the manufacturer. Anshu’s approach to problem solving is more of a consultative and supportive approach, which her customers appreciate.

Anshu loves that no two customer challenges are ever the same. She explains that her customers usually come to her with a problem they need to solve. For example, she says, “they might say to me, ‘I’m trying to do a, b, or c. Do you have something that can help me do that?’” This means Anshu must not only be knowledgeable, but she must also be creative and agile, so she can quickly find an appropriate and viable solution for her customer.

Anshu’s approach to sales and her role may not seem traditional, but it serves her and her customers very well. Her belief that her role isn’t so much to sell, as it is to search, locate, and provide the best answers to the most challenging questions and to provide the most sound solutions to pressing problems, is a win, win.

IIA’s Core Values fall perfectly in line with Anshu’s core values. She tells us that “The most important aspect of what I do is to have integrity, and to be honest, trustworthy, and a good listener.” When you are truly listening to your customers, you understand the fundamental issues they are experiencing and are in a much better position to properly assist them and provide solutions.
